BEMC TAKES PROACTIVE MEASURES REGARDING COVID-19
Supply N.C. (3/16/2020) – Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation (BEMC) has implemented steps to protect members and employees, as well as ensure efficient operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The following actions will take effect Monday, March 16 until further notice:
⦁ In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19, all district offices will be closed to walk-in traffic; drive-through service is still available. Member service representatives are available by phone Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to assist with questions or concerns.
⦁ BEMC will suspend disconnects for non-payment to allow members experiencing financial challenges additional time to make payments. This includes residential, business, and prepaid accounts.
⦁ Members are encouraged to make payments through the automated payment line at (866) 934-6830, via the SmartHub app, or at one of the eleven Bill Payment Terminals (BPTs) located throughout the service area. A list of BPT locations can be found at bemc.org/billing-payments.
“We are working to stay ahead of the situation as it evolves and will implement additional procedures if it becomes necessary” said Josh Winslow, CEO. “We want to work with you to mitigate the pandemic’s impact.”
BEMC is proactively working to maintain a healthy workforce to ensure the continued delivery of reliable electricity and the quality of service members expect. For the most current information, follow BEMC on Facebook and Twitter or visit bemc.org.
